What motivated you to begin a webcomic?
I wanted to amuse people. I hoped to create something that someone would want to read, and come back to read again. I also wanted to start it on an online scale, so my art and comics could be spread to people in all different places and countries, not just my own country (Australia).
What pushes you forward to make new art and comics?
The advice and encouragement of freinds. Some freinds I've met over the Internet have inspired me to be able to continue my art, if not for them, I wouldn't be doing what I am now.
How long does it take to make a strip?
4-8 hours. I will only take up to 8 if I'm having trouble with certain things -- script, the computer, the editing software.
How do you make a strip?
First I sit around for about an hour or so thinking of an idea. Once I grab that idea, I draw it in pencil, on paper, where, once done, I ink in any decent pen. When I'm finished that, I scan into Arcsoft Photostudio 5, where I colour and shade the characters. I then transfer the comic to Paint Shop Pro 9, where I create and add the background, and add text ballons. I then re-transfer it back to Arcsoft, where I letter the comic. After that, you see the sexah-ness on the site!
What is the best part about making a webcomic?
The people who come with feedback, even when bad, I always appreciate advice. The entire smackjeeves.com community is always encouraging.
What is the worst part?
Creating an entire strip, then coming back to view it weeks or months later and finding it's really bad and unenjoyable... That's the worst feeling.
Don't you think a gamer theme is over used?
Not at all. Gaming is just another interest... Saying it's over used is like saying television, music or the Internet is over used.
Do you Australians really bite?
Only if you're American.
